One person has been killed and an unspecified number of residents abducted after bandits invaded Makuawana town in Sabon-Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

‎Security analyst and X user Bakatsine disclosed the attack on his verified handle on Tuesday, describing the incident as “sad news.”

‎“Last night, bandits invaded Makuawana town in Sabon-Birni LGA of Sokoto State, killing one person and abducting an unspecified number of residents,” he posted.

‎Bakatsine said the situation remains deeply concerning and called for urgent security intervention to protect lives, secure affected communities, and rescue those taken away.

‎He urged authorities to act swiftly to prevent further attacks and restore safety in Sokoto East Senatorial District, where Sabon-Birni is located.

‎Sabon-Birni has suffered repeated bandit attacks in recent years, with residents often lamenting poor security presence and slow response from security agencies.

‎As of press time, security authorities in Sokoto State were yet to issue an official statement on the latest attack.
