Eight abducted civilians have been rescued following a raid by C-Watch operatives on a suspected bandits hideout in Malumfashi LGA of Katsina State.

‎The development was reported on Wednesday by security analyst Bakatsine via his X handle.

‎According to the update, the operation reportedly escalated into a fierce gun battle with bandits, during which several bandits were killed. The firefight allowed operatives to secure and evacuate the hostages.

‎“The rescued civilians have been safely handed over to their relatives yesterday evening after being processed by authorities,” Bakatsine stated.

‎Tragically, two C-Watch officers lost their lives during the firefight while carrying out the rescue mission.

‎“Condolences continue to pour in for the fallen personnel,” the post added.
