Eight abducted civilians have been rescued following a raid by C-Watch operatives on a suspected bandits hideout in Malumfashi LGA of Katsina State.
The development was reported on Wednesday by security analyst Bakatsine via his X handle.
According to the update, the operation reportedly escalated into a fierce gun battle with bandits, during which several bandits were killed. The firefight allowed operatives to secure and evacuate the hostages.
“The rescued civilians have been safely handed over to their relatives yesterday evening after being processed by authorities,” Bakatsine stated.
Tragically, two C-Watch officers lost their lives during the firefight while carrying out the rescue mission.
“Condolences continue to pour in for the fallen personnel,” the post added.
