Troops of Sector 1, Sub-Sector 12 have intensified search-and-rescue operations for Mr. Zira Osata, abducted at Adonai village in Kwang District, Jos North LGA of Plateau State.
Security sources said the victim was kidnapped at about 2:26 a.m. on May 31 by unidentified gunmen. Troops were mobilised immediately after a distress call and have since launched coordinated operations in suspected criminal hideouts around the area.
According to security expert Zaragoza Makama, the military is working with Keystone, a local security support initiative, to track the abductors and secure Osata’s release, while intelligence-led operations have also been extended to surrounding communities to monitor the kidnappers’ movement.
Military authorities assured residents of sustained security presence and urged the public to provide timely information to support ongoing efforts.
It was further learnt that operations remain active to ensure the safe recovery of the victim and arrest of those responsible.
