Bandits have killed a young boy and injured several worshippers during Maghrib prayers at a mosque in Namama community, Giwa LGA of Kaduna State.

‎According to security expert Bakatsine, the gunmen attacked on Sunday evening amid heavy rainfall, firing indiscriminately at worshippers. The attack left one boy dead and multiple others wounded.

‎The incident threw the community into mourning, with residents offering prayers for the recovery of the injured and for an end to insecurity across the North-West.

‎Bakatsine said residents are questioning how many more civilians must die in places of worship before effective protection measures are put in place for vulnerable communities.

‎Attacks on mosques across Nigeria have been rising, sparking fear among worshippers.

‎The assaults have involved shootings, bombings and abductions, especially in the North-West, North-East and parts of the North-Central, leaving several dead, injured or kidnapped during prayers.
