Bandits have raided Unguwar Gishir community in Katsina State’s Malumfashi local government area, abducting several residents and looting valuables.

‎‎Security expert Bakatsine confirmed the attack, citing local sources, saying security has deteriorated significantly in Malumfashi over the past week. Tension was severe on Friday, with prayers suspended in several communities due to intense raids.

‎‎Among those kidnapped is a young man whose wedding is scheduled for March 20, 2026. Bakatsine noted this is not the family’s first trauma; the man’s father was abducted three years ago, suffering paralysis from the ordeal.

‎‎Newsbuka reports that attacks have persisted despite reported peace arrangements between Malumfashi stakeholders and bandit groups.
