Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has reacted to the defection of Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf back to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Recall that Governor Yusuf officially left the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) on Friday, January 23, 2026, before returning to the APC on Monday, January 26.
The event took place at the Kano Government House and was attended by Senator Barau and other party leaders.
Welcoming the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, into the All Progressives Congress (APC), in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Malam Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau said he was ready to work closely with Governor Yusuf and other stakeholders to address the challenges facing Kano State.
Senator Barau added that Governor Yusuf’s engagement in politics is guided by service to the people of Kano State.
