A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has dismissed speculations that he will replace Vice President Kashim Shettima as President Bola Tinubu’s running mate ahead the 2027 election.
Speaking on Sunday during an interview, the APC chieftain, begged to be left out of discussions about who replaces Vice President Kashim Shettima.
He asked for the right thing to be done at all times, saying, “Whatever we are doing shouldn’t be because we are afraid of anybody breathing down our necks; it should be because it is the right thing to do.”
Speaking on the possibility of having a Christian running mate in 2027, Dogara stated that it is a discussion that is ongoing which he is aware of.
Recall that there has been speculations that the All Progressives Congress (APC) may again field a Muslim–Muslim ticket in 2027.
