Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, has commended the police over the swift arrest of suspects linked to the gruesome murder of Fatima Abubakar and her six children in Dorayi Chiranchi, Kano State.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Kwankwaso described the killing as “barbaric, heartbreaking and deeply tragic,” adding that the victims were a defenceless mother and her young children.
Kwankwaso extended his condolences to the bereaved family, the Dorayi Chiranchi community, and the people of Kano State, saying the incident had plunged the state into mourning.
He commended the Kano State Police Command for their rapid, intelligence-led response that led to the arrest of the principal suspects within hours of the crime.
The chieftain of the NNPP, enjoined authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to swift and decisive justice to prevent a recurrence of such acts.
Kwankwaso also called on residents of Kano State to remain vigilant and strengthen community co-operation in order to curb violence and enhance public safety.
He also prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased, asking Allah to grant them Aljannah Firdaus and to give their relatives the strength to bear the loss.
