Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has distanced himself from a report claiming he is mobilising support for a nationwide protest over Nigeria’s security challenges.
In a statement on his verified X handle on Monday, Kwankwaso urged the public to disregard the message, describing it as false and disinformation.
“Our attention has been drawn to a message currently circulating on social media falsely claiming that we are planning a protest over rising insecurity in the country,” he said.
Kwankwaso said he does not support any action that could lead to breakdown of law and order. “As responsible leaders, we remain committed to peaceful and constructive approaches in addressing national challenges,” he added.
He stated that the ballot box remains the most legitimate way to express grievances and seek change.
