President Bola Tinubu has called on religious leaders to take a more active role in combating terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry in Nigeria and across Africa.

‎Speaking at the Kano Grand Maulud of Sheikh Ahmad Al-Tijani on Sunday, President Tinubu, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, urged clerics to consistently speak against violent extremism and promote peace.

‎He said stronger peace education and moral guidance for young people are critical to tackling insecurity.
‎
‎The President described the Tijjaniyya community as an important partner in efforts to counter violent extremism across the Sahel and West Africa.
‎
‎President Tinubu also paid tribute to the late Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi and reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to regional security, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence.

‎The Maulud attracted Islamic scholars and dignitaries from Algeria, Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, and other countries.
