Vice President Kashim Shettima on Friday urged Nigerians to pray for peace and stability, assuring that President Bola Tinubu remains committed to restoring security across the country.
Shettima made the call in Abuja after a special Juma’at prayer at the National Mosque to mark this year’s Democracy Day.
The Vice President said the government is working to secure the safe return of children and citizens held by bandits and terrorists.
He also acknowledged the sacrifices of past heroes who defended Nigeria’s democracy.
“No matter how long the night is, it must give way to the light of dawn,” Shettima said, adding that the administration remains committed to restoring peace and stability.
Shettima urged Nigerians to pray for the nation and for one another, saying the bonds that unite the country outweigh the differences that divide it.
