The Super Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for the last 16 of the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations following a 3-2 victory over Tunisia on Saturday night.
Goals from Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman secured the victory for the Super Eagles while Tunisia’s goals were scored by defenders Montassar Talbi and Ali Abdi.
Recall that the Super Eagles began their tournament with a narrow 2-1 win over Tanzania on Tuesday.
The Super Eagles came into Saturday’s game knowing that three points against the Carthage Eagles will put them in control of Group C.
Victor Osimhen headed Nigeria into the lead before the break, before goals from Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman put Eric Chelle’s men in firm control.
Tunisia pulled one back through Montassar Talbi, before a late penalty was converted by Ali Al-Abdi.
The victory means Nigeria have six points from two matches, while Tunisia remain second with three points.
