A joint team of police officers, troops of 17 Brigade, and C-Watch repelled bandits in a heavy firefight around Dan Sarai axis, Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State last night, security sources said.

‎According to security analyst Bakatsine, the bandits who were operating around Malumfashi LGA were ambushed by the joint security team.
‎
‎The forces engaged them in a heavy firefight, forcing the criminals to retreat with gunshot wounds.
‎
‎Two civilians were reportedly injured during the clash.
‎
‎However, another bandit group allegedly exploited the security operation to launch a separate attack on Badawa village in the same LGA.
‎
‎The attackers killed three residents and rustled cattle during the raid.
‎
‎Security agencies have yet to release an official statement on the incidents.
‎
