Ogun State Police Command on Monday confirmed that Nigeria-born British ex-world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, has been hospitalised after a road accident in the Makun area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.

‎The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Babaseyi Oluseyi, confirmed this in a statement.

‎It was reported that two persons travelling in the same car with Joshua died on the spot.
‎
‎Confirming the development, the Ogun State Police Command said the accident occurred in front of Sinoma, before Danco, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
‎
‎It added that Anthony Joshua and other injured persons have been rushed to the hospital, saying that further updates will be communicated.
