The Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC, has confirmed a train accident on the Warri–Itakpe Train Service corridor.
NRC Managing Director Kayode Opeifa said emergency response teams and relevant authorities have been deployed to the scene to assist passengers and manage the situation.
He said details of the incident remain sketchy, but the Corporation is monitoring developments and working with relevant agencies.
Opeifa added that a comprehensive statement will be issued once more information is available.
The NRC urged members of the public to remain calm and rely only on official channels for verified updates on the incident.
