The Kwankwasiyya Movement has dismissed reports that NDC vice-presidential candidate Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso threatened to leave the party over candidate substitutions.

‎Spokesman Habibu Sale Mohammed said  Kwankwaso described the reports as “mere rumours” and that neither the movement nor its leader was complaining.

‎Some media reports claimed Kwankwaso  would exit the Nigeria Democratic Congress if loyalists nominated by the bloc were replaced.

‎The reports followed the substitution of several candidates submitted by the group, with allegations that it violated an earlier power-sharing agreement.

‎Mohammed said the claims were baseless.

‎He explained that party primaries were conducted on May 29 in line with the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines, and winners were affirmed the same day.

‎Mohammed added that NDC stakeholders had agreed on a consensus model where necessary and submitted the candidate list without internal disputes.

‎According to Mohammed, Kwankwaso has not communicated any grievance with the party to the movement.
