The National Parents Teachers Association of Nigeria, NAPTAN, has declared a three-day fasting and prayer over rising insecurity and the abduction of teachers and students in Oyo State.
NAPTAN National Publicity Secretary, Dr Ademola Ekundayo, said in a statement that the spiritual exercise will hold from 1st to 3rd June 2026.
The association called on religious leaders and Nigerians to join in seeking divine intervention for the release of the captives, while urging Governor Seyi Makinde and security agencies to ensure their timely rescue.
“NAPTAN believes human efforts have not been enough. It is time for the nation to unite in prayers for the safe and speedy release of our children and teachers,” the statement read.
NAPTAN reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety of every Nigerian child and teacher.
