The Borno State Police Command has said it is investigating reports that suspected ISWAP fighters abducted students from Government Day Secondary School, Lassa, in Askira-Uba LGA.
PPRO Nahum Kenneth Daso told newsmen the attackers allegedly used Lassa market day to infiltrate the community on motorcycles before storming the school.
“They shot and killed one teacher and took away all the students who were in their classrooms,” Daso was quoted as saying.
Police said security forces confronted the attackers, which reduced the scale of the abduction, and personnel are combing the bush for victims.
The claim comes 47 days after 42 pupils were abducted from Mussa Primary/JSS, also in Askira-Uba.
