Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has approved the appointment of new Special Advisers and the reassignment of several serving advisers in a restructuring aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery.

‎The announcement was made in a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Thursday.
‎
‎As part of the exercise, Governor Yusuf scrapped the offices of Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs and Special Adviser on Liaison Offices, Abuja. Affected officials were reassigned to new responsibilities.
‎
‎Habiba Mustapha Barwa, formerly Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs, is now Special Adviser on Special Duties, Women. Hon. Umar Uba Akawu, former Special Adviser on Liaison Offices, Abuja, has been redeployed as Special Adviser, Cabinet Office, Political.

‎Other reassignments: Akibu Isa Murtala moves from Special Adviser, Administration, Governor’s Office, to Special Adviser, Human Resource; Ibrahim Adam from Special Adviser on Information to Special Adviser on Social Media; and Nasiru Isa Dikko from Special Adviser on NGOs to Special Adviser on Empowerment.

‎Bello Nuhu Bello, previously Senior Special Assistant on Administration to the Governor, was appointed Special Adviser on Administration, Governor’s Office.
‎
‎New appointments include: Hon. Ahmed Muhammad Aruwa, former APC State Publicity Secretary, as Special Adviser on Publicity; Hon. Buhari Sule Kura as Special Adviser on Non-Governmental Organizations; and Hon. Yahuza Ado Yankaba, promoted from SSA, as Special Adviser on Motor Parks.

‎Additional new Special Advisers are Hon. Ahmed Tijjani Musa, Hon. Ibrahim Hamisu Rimi, Mustapha Abdullahi Rabiu Kura, Engr. Bashir Abdullahi Kutama, Hon. Naziru Abdullahi Karaye, and Hon. Tahir Ado Rabiu.

‎Governor Yusuf said the restructuring is to optimize administrative efficiency and align institutions with his administration’s priorities. He urged appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them through commitment, loyalty, and dedication.
‎
‎He reminded them that public office is a trust for advancing Kano State and the wellbeing of citizens.
‎
‎Appointees whose portfolios were scrapped should report to the Secretary to the State Government for further briefing. Portfolios for other new appointees will be announced on the governor’s return to the country.
