Erstwhile Director-General of the Department of State Services, DSS, Lawal Daura, says he will run for governor of Katsina State in the 2027 election.
‎
‎Justifying his decision, he stated that he is dissatisfied with the current administration’s handling of security and governance.
‎
‎Speaking with DCL Hausa on Tuesday, Daura said he has done the necessary consultations on the party platform he intends to use and will reveal it soon.
‎
‎He faulted the incumbent administration, wondering why the Governor is seeking re-election after what he described as underperformance.
‎
‎Daura opined that leaders should learn to step aside when they can no longer manage responsibilities effectively.
