The duo of midfielder Marwan Attia and attacker Salah Mohsen will be missing in action for Egypt in their third-place match against Nigeria later today.
Newsbuka reports that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) punished the duo following their unsportsmanlike conduct during Egypt’s 1-0 semi-final loss to Senegal.
While Attia made a gesture suggesting that the referees had been bribed, Mohsen on the other hand, made mocking gestures toward Senegalese journalists.
Their suspension has now been seen as a major blow for Pharaoh’s head coach Hossam Hassan, who will miss some players ahead the match with Nigeria.
The seven-time champions will face the Super Eagles at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca on Saturday (today).
The game is billed to kick off by 5pm Nigeria time.
