Following his retirement from international football, the Confederation of African Football, CAF, has celebrated William Troost-Ekong.
Troost-Ekong announced his retirement from international football on social media on Thursday.
The 32-year-old served Nigeria for 10 years, making 83 appearances for the three-time African champions.
Troost-Ekong was Player of the Tournament at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. He was also named in the team of the competition.
Celebrating Troost-Ekong, CAF wrote on X, “Legends remain, in their time and long after it. William Troost-Ekong. It’s been a pleasure, captain.”
