Czech club FC Banik Ostrava has celebrated Abdullahi Bewene’s debut for the Super Eagles.
Bewene made his debut for Nigeria in Wednesday night’s 2-2 draw against Poland at the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw.
The 21-year-old was not included in head coach Eric Chelle’s original squad but earned a late call-up following the withdrawal of several key players ahead of the friendly.
The former Golden Eaglets ace drew praise from fans and pundits alike after delivering an impressive performance in the captivating encounter.
Banik Ostrava celebrated Bewene’s maiden appearance for the three-time African champions on social media.
“Abdullahi Bewene made his debut for the Nigerian national team on Wednesday. He played the full 90 minutes against Poland in Warsaw, with the friendly match ending in a 2-2 draw,” the club wrote on X.
Meanwhile, Bewene expressed his delight after making his debut, pledging to continue giving his all for the national team.
“I’m very happy and proud to represent my country. I’m ready to give more of this. When I’m on the pitch, I’m ready to give my all. I just forget everything,” he said after the game.
“There are plenty of people in my country. I have to make them happy. I have to make myself happy.”
