GUSAU – Bandits launched a deadly attack on Kasuwar-daji community in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Saturday night, killing four soldiers, abducting about 70 residents and looting shops in the area.

‎According to a report on X by security expert Bakatsine, the attackers first overran a military outpost in the community. Four soldiers were killed in the assault while others sustained injuries.

‎The gunmen also set ablaze a military Hilux vehicle and the soldiers’ accommodation before reinforcements arrived from Gusau.
‎
‎After the attack on the outpost, the bandits stormed Kasuwar-daji town where they abducted an estimated 70 people, mostly women and children. Several shops were also looted before the attackers fled the community.

‎The latest attack adds to the growing insecurity in rural Zamfara, where communities have continued to live under constant fear of bandit raids, kidnappings and violence.

‎Security agencies are yet to issue an official statement on the incident as at press time.
