Abia State APC governorship aspirant, Mr. Eric Opah, has denied claims that he endorsed Governor Alex Otti for a second term, describing the allegation as false.

‎In a statement issued by his media team on Tuesday, Opah said he had never, covertly or overtly, endorsed the governor. He challenged those spreading the claim to provide evidence of any public endorsement or contracts he had executed for the Otti administration.

‎The aspirant said the video being circulated was taken out of context. According to the statement, Opah spoke in the clip as President General of Nsulu to appreciate the governor for appointing an Nsulu indigene to a key position, and not to endorse him politically.

‎“It is, therefore, laughable that his remarks, which were simply an expression of appreciation to the Governor for appointing an Nsulu son to a key position, have been misconstrued as endorsement and anti-party conduct,” the statement read.

‎Opah’s team said the spread of propaganda and false narratives only pits responsible and hardworking individuals against the public.

‎The Media Team stressed that his loyalty to the APC remains unshaken and that he would not be deterred by blackmail or false claims.

‎The statement added that Opah remains committed to ensuring the APC clinches power in Abia State and at other levels. If given the party’s ticket, he pledged to carry everyone along to secure victory.

‎The clarification comes amid ongoing political activity ahead of the 2027 general elections in Abia State.
