The Abia State Police Command has arrested two suspects for vandalising and stealing government property in Uzuakoli Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects, Emmanuel Ogonna, 23, of Lohom, Uzuakoli and Ifeanychukwu Oko, 25, also of Lohom, were apprehended on June 19, 2026, during a stop-and-search operation along Uzuakoli Road.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chioma Chinaka, said operatives of the Mike Okiro Divisional Police Headquarters intercepted the suspects in an auto-rickshaw, Keke Napep, and recovered stolen items.
Exhibits recovered include 49 pieces of angle irons, 2 saws, 3 spanners, 3 small iron boards and 86 electrical poles, all suspected to have been vandalized and stolen.
According to police sources, the suspects made confessional statements admitting to vandalising and stealing the items.
Chinaka said the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.
Reacting to the feat by his men, the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, reiterated the Command’s commitment to crime prevention and detection.
