The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abia State has dismissed reports that the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, PhD, has endorsed Governor Alex Otti for a second term.

‎In a statement on Friday by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Chief Uche Aguoru, the APC described the claim as misleading, malicious, and deceptive propaganda being pushed by the governor’s media team.

“For the benefit of the public who may be misled by these falsehoods, we wish to categorically state that Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu remains a loyal, committed, and dedicated party man, as well as the undisputed leader of the APC in Abia State,” the statement read.

‎The party said it was embarrassing that a government known for self-praise was now “desperately shopping for endorsements,” stressing that Kalu had never endorsed Otti either publicly or privately.

According to the statement, the Deputy Speaker remains resolute in ensuring that the APC wins all elective positions in Abia and takes over Government House, Umuahia, in 2027.

‎“The determination to ensure that the Labour Party administration in Abia State is voted out remains strong and unwavering, especially given what many Abians see as the mismanagement of critical sectors of governance,” it added.

‎The APC urged Abians to remain steadfast and united in their support for the party, assuring that it would continue to offer a credible alternative and a better future for the state.
