Security Expert, Bakatsine has confirmed the arrest of an informant accused of supplying information to bandits in Romo village, Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
He disclosed this in a post on X on Wednesday.
The suspect, identified as Ashiru Abubakar from Gumfa Gebe village in Wamakko LGA, was arrested by security agents over allegations of working with criminal elements operating around Tambuwal communities.
According to reports, he was linked to a threat against Romo village, where residents were allegedly given an ultimatum to pay ₦10 million or face an attack.
Bakatsine said the arrest underscores the critical role of intelligence in preventing attacks and dismantling criminal networks, while commending security agencies for their sustained efforts to identify suspects and protect vulnerable communities.
