As the 2027 elections approach, the conversation in Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency is shifting from rhetoric to results.
For Uzoma Ihuka, a frontline aspirant for the House of Representatives seat, the job of a federal lawmaker goes beyond sitting in Abuja and making laws.
In a recent interview , he said, “Aside lawmaking, another key reason for sending a representative to the National Assembly is to attract federal presence to our constituency.”
“Today, Isiala Ngwa North/South has no federal institution of any kind. By God’s grace, if I emerge as your representative, I will give our people this generational empowerment by attracting federal projects and institutions,” he said.
Ihuka described the absence of federal institutions in the constituency as a development gap that must be closed. He noted that federal presence translates directly to jobs, infrastructure, economic opportunities and a stronger voice for the people at the national level.
According to him, his representation will focus on three key deliverables: effective lawmaking, robust oversight, and strategic attraction of federal projects to Isiala Ngwa North/South.
“Our people deserve more than promises. They deserve institutions — a federal polytechnic, a federal medical centre, agricultural projects, road interventions. These are the things that outlive any one person and become legacies for our children,” he stated.
The APC candidate assured constituents that he will leverage relationships across party lines and his experience in business and public service to lobby ministries, agencies and development partners to site projects in the area.
“Leadership is about leaving something behind. My goal is simple: when you talk about Isiala Ngwa in 10 years, you will point to institutions and projects that changed lives. That is the generational empowerment I am committed to,” Ihuka assured.
