Village Chairmen, village heads and Chairladies in Ngwa Ukwu, Isiala Ngwa North LGA of Abia State, have offered prayers and traditional blessings to Chief Uzo Ihuka during his visit to his maternal home.
The gathering, which drew leaders from Ngwa Ukwu Ward 4, Ngwa Ukwu Ward 5, and Ihie Ward 6, was marked by prayers and the pouring of libation in line with Igbo custom.
Speaking on behalf of the community, the leaders said Chief Ihuka, son of Nwaoha, deserved prayers for coming home to greet his people and formally intimate them that he would be contesting for Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC. They affirmed that he remains their son.
Earlier, Chief Ihuka, who expressed gratitude for the warm reception, said the visit was about respect and connection to his maternal roots.
He assured the elders and women of his commitment to the progress and wellbeing of their children and community.

The highpoint of the meeting was the pouring of libation and prayers by the elders of Ngwa Ukwu, a traditional seal of acceptance and goodwill.
