In a show of love and solidarity, village heads and women leaders in Umuoha, Isiala Ngwa North LGA of Abia State, have offered prayers and traditional blessings to Chief Uzo Ihuka, the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency.
The prayers and supplications, which were made during a meeting in Umuoha, saw community leaders across party lines commend Chief Ihuka for deeming it necessary to intimate them of his aspiration.
They appreciated him, recalling his years of philanthropy, and affirmed that the coast was clear for him even though campaigns had not officially started. The gathering pledged to take the message of hope to their homes, saying he is well known to them.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Ihuka said it was neither a speech-making day nor time for campaigns. He emphasised that the essence of the meeting was to intimate them that he had secured the APC ticket to contest for the seat of Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency.
He acknowledged that it was his duty to carry out the ritual and appealed to them to take the message to their families and homes. He pledged to continue prioritising their welfare.
