The Nigerian Senate has commenced the screening of a former Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, General Christopher Musa, rtd, as the new Minister of Defence.
The screening followed Musa’s nomination by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday.
Newsbuka reports that if confirmed, Musa will replace the former Defence Minister, Mohammed Badaru, who resigned from the position on health grounds.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday nominated Musa as Minister of Defense.
He served as Chief of Defence Staff from 2023 until October 2025.
