Former Sokoto State Governor, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a March 11, 2026 letter to his ward chairman, Tambuwal cited persistent internal crises, leadership disagreements, and divisions within the PDP as reasons for leaving.
Tambuwal, who represented Sokoto South Senatorial District, thanked the PDP for opportunities to serve Nigeria.
He stated his decision was guided by a desire for a stronger platform built on integrity, accountability, and national development.
Tambuwal reaffirmed his commitment to Nigeria’s service, democracy, justice, and national unity, joining the ADC with associates and supporters.
