Three young men were killed and a teenage girl injured after gunmen suspected to be Fulani bandits attacked a smoking spot in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Sources told security expert Zagazola Makama that troops of Sector 4, Operation Enduring Peace, OPEP, responded to reports of sporadic gunfire around Rantiya community at about 7:58 p.m. on July 4.
On arrival, the troops found three males shot dead at the scene. A girl who sustained gunshot wounds was also rescued.
The bodies were deposited at the General Hospital in Barkin Ladi, while the injured girl was rushed to Damlak Clinic for treatment.
The sources said troops have commenced a manhunt for the fleeing attackers. Security agencies added that investigations are ongoing to restore calm and prevent further attacks in the area.
