Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has nominated Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Augie as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election, replacing the incumbent Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafida Argungu.

‎The decision, announced on Sunday in Birnin Kebbi, was attributed to professional legal advice regarding the eligibility of the incumbent deputy governor.

‎According to the APC National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, the decision was made with Senator Tafida’s understanding and consent, stressing that there is no disagreement between the Governor and his Deputy.

‎Governor Idris also appealed for continued unity, support and cooperation as his administration pursues further development across Kebbi State.
