The All Progressives Congress, (APC), Abia State chapter, says that in line with the collective decision of party stakeholders and members across the 17 Local Government Areas, the Deputy Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, remains the duly recognised and undisputed leader of the APC in Abia State.
‎‎The party pointed out that any individual or group parading themselves as leaders of the party in the state does so at their own peril, saying, “Leadership of the APC in Abia will firmly resist any attempt, no matter how highly placed, to sow seeds of division, create parallel structures, or undermine the unity and cohesion of our party.”
‎‎In a statement on Monday made available to newsmen by the Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Uche Aguoru, the party maintained that Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu remains the rallying point and the undisputed leader of the party.
‎”We hereby pass a resounding vote of confidence in his leadership, capacity, and commitment to lead the APC to victory at all levels in the 2027 general elections,” it said.
‎The party lauded leaders of the party in the state for their sacrifices, roles and contributions in ensuring that the party emerged united and stronger.
‎‎It appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his overwhelming show of support during the Abia APC Congress, which produced the current formidable leadership of the party in Abia State.
‎Abia APC equally appreciated the National Chairman of the party, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, for his commitment, leadership, and close attention in ensuring that the Abia APC Congress was conducted peacefully.
‎”On behalf of the leadership and members of the APC, we want to sincerely thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his overwhelming show of support during the Abia APC Congress, which produced the current formidable leadership of our party in the state.
