‎The candidate of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Hon. Onyejeocha, with her experience in lawmaking, is the answer to the poor representation that has bedeviled the constituency.

‎Look at what she achieved during her days at the House of Representatives and then juxtapose it with the performance of the current member representing the constituency, it is not comparable. Giving Keke and motorcycle is not a legacy project.

‎As a ranking member, Onyejeocha did not just make up the numbers. She became a national voice. She sponsored life-changing bills and motions that had direct bearing on Nigerian workers, women and the vulnerable. Her legislative activism led to improved welfare for workers and she chaired strategic committees that brought development to the South-East.

‎She attracted federal projects that are still verifiable today – classroom blocks, erosion control projects, rural electrification, skills acquisition centres and employment opportunities for our youths in federal agencies. She did not empower her constituents with Keke economics; she gave them sustainable livelihoods and federal presence.

‎Today, Isuikwuato/Umunneochi has been reduced to a constituency that only hears of its representative during Keke sharing ceremonies. No robust debate on the floor, no federal project that bears his name, no bill that can be traced to him, no voice for our people in the national discourse. That is not representation; that is absenteeism.

‎Onyejeocha understands legislative lobbying. She knows how to negotiate, how to build alliances and how to bring the dividends of democracy home. She has done it before and she will do it even better now with her wealth of experience and national contacts.

‎The choice before Isuikwuato/Umunneochi in 2027 is clear. It is a choice between a proven performer who will speak and a bench warmer who will sleep. It is a choice between sustainable development and Keke empowerment.
