The road from Isi Court in Umuahia to Waterside in Aba has remained deplorable for far too long. It is painful to watch.
Despite its strategic importance as a direct link between the state capital and the commercial hub, and as an alternative route to Aba, the current administration led by Governor Alex Otti has failed to include it in the list of flagged-off projects.
This neglect speaks to a bigger problem.
Abians deserve a governor who sees the entire state as one. A governor who will not discriminate in the award and execution of projects based on senatorial zone, LGA, or political affiliation. A governor who understands that development must touch every part of Abia.
That is why it has become imperative for us to look beyond 2027 with clear eyes. We need a leader from that axis who understands the pain of plying the Ururuka Road daily. We need a leader who knows that fixing this road is not a favor, but a necessity.
There is no gainsaying the fact that Chief Eric Opah will give the Ururuka Road the facelift it desperately needs. He has consistently advocated a united Abia devoid of all discriminatory tendencies.
The time has come for Abians to have a deep thought on the kind of governor we desire in 2027. Do we want more selective projects, or do we want inclusive development?
The choice before us is simple. Vote a galvaniser for the execution of projects and unbiased appointments. Vote someone who believes Abians are one.
Chief Eric Opah is the answer.
