Troops of 17 Brigade, Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, in a joint operation with the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, foiled a major livestock rustling attempt in Charanchi Local Government Area of Katsina State on Tuesday evening.

‎Security expert Bakatsine while posting on his verified X handle, said the operation followed an alert from residents that bandits were moving a large herd of rustled livestock through Kaddanya village.

‎Acting on the intelligence, the joint force laid an ambush at Sabari Reraya village and intercepted the suspects.

‎A brief firefight ensued, with troops deploying superior firepower. The suspects abandoned the stolen livestock and fled into nearby bushes.

‎The recovered livestock has been secured.

‎Authorities say efforts are ongoing to identify the rightful owners for return.
