‎
‎Posting on his verified X handle, Bakatsine, said the attackers were believed to be bandits operating in the region.

‎According to him, family members confirmed the death of the soldier, stating that funeral prayers would be conducted in line with Islamic rites.
‎
‎He added that the killing adds to a series of violent incidents affecting security personnel and civilians in Nigeria’s northwest region.
‎
‎Bakatsine said, “Zamfara State has experienced years of armed violence involving criminal groups known locally as bandits, who frequently target highways and rural communities.”
