‎Newsbuka understands that the Rivers State House of Assembly has halted impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Deputy Governor, Ngozi Odu.

‎Online reports said the House adopted a motion to halt the impeachment process during its resumed sitting in Port Harcourt.

‎Those conversant with the situation have suggested that the development is not unconnected with the recent intervention of President Bola Tinubu.

‎Recall that the President recently met with the governor, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike and leaders of the assembly.

‎Meanwhile, it is believed that the latest development would mark an end to the lingering political crisis in Rivers State.
