Newsbuka understands that the Rivers State House of Assembly has halted impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Deputy Governor, Ngozi Odu.
Online reports said the House adopted a motion to halt the impeachment process during its resumed sitting in Port Harcourt.
Those conversant with the situation have suggested that the development is not unconnected with the recent intervention of President Bola Tinubu.
Recall that the President recently met with the governor, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike and leaders of the assembly.
Meanwhile, it is believed that the latest development would mark an end to the lingering political crisis in Rivers State.
