The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has urged the public to disregard results circulating on social media purporting to be the outcome of its nationwide primaries held on May 28 and 29, 2026.
In a statement on Sunday by Osa Director, National Publicity Secretary of the party, NDC said only the National Executive Committee, NEC, is authorized to announce primary results.
The party said NEC is in custody of the results and will release them after transmitting the list of candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
NDC added that National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, has directed that a NEC meeting be convened.
“NEC members are expected in Abuja for a pre-NEC meeting on Tuesday, June 2, while the main NEC meeting holds on Wednesday, June 3, 2026,” the statement read.
“The public and stakeholders will be informed of the official results after INEC receives the candidates’ list,” it added.
