Emerging reports indicate a mass exodus from Bargaja village in Isa local government area of Sokoto State.

‎A video on X posted on Sunday by security expert Bakatsine showed residents fleeing due to repeated killings allegedly carried out by bandits loyal to Bello Turji.

‎Bakatsine added that despite Ramadan fasting, families are leaving their homes daily in search of safety.

Recent threats from Turji have led to residents abandoning farms and property.

‎Over 28 villages are now deserted, with displaced persons seeking shelter in public schools and temporary locations in Isa town.

‎The situation is “deeply worrying,” with residents living in constant fear. Some have relocated to neighboring towns or crossed into Niger Republic.

‎These attacks have led to killings, kidnappings, and looting, with residents complaining of poor living conditions and lack of government support.
