Ahead the 2027 general elections, the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress ( ADC), Senator David Mark, has insisted that the country needs workable solutions and not rhetoric.
Mark stated this on Monday while inaugurating the ADC Policy and Manifesto Committee.
He said the opposition party must be prepared to not only win power, but also justify power through service.
Mark blamed the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for allegedly compounding the woes of the country through ‘vicious’ policies, stating that families across the country were finding it difficult to cope with the cost of living, despite working hard.
The ADC chairman submitted that the APC-led Federal Government had continued to worsen the plight of citizens through tax burdens, while insecurity kept disrupting the social and economic lives of Nigerians.
He enjoined the opposition party to come up with answers to the challenges of transportation, agriculture, security, healthcare, education and unemployment.
Mark also noted that there was the need for the ADC to put in place safeguards that made it impossible for any individual to hijack the party.
