Ibrahima Konate has agreed terms to join Real Madrid as the club’s first summer signing.
The 26-year-old defender has reached a verbal agreement with the LaLiga giants to move on a free transfer after his contract with Liverpool expired.
Konate only announced his exit from the Premier League side in the past few days.
He will become the first arrival at the Bernabeu after Madrid wrapped up a deal to appoint Jose Mourinho as their new manager.
Both deals for Konate and Mourinho will be announced if Florentino Perez is re-elected as Real Madrid president.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on X: “Real Madrid have verbal agreement in place with Ibrahima Konaté! Four-year deal to be signed, depending on if/when Florentino Pérez is re-elected. Here we go, expected right after,”
