The Kano Police Command has confirmed that the number of casualties in the gruesome killings of members of one family in a Kano community has risen to seven.
Recall that suspected assailants reportedly killed a housewife and her four children, including an infant child, in their home early Saturday in Kano.
Eyewitness account said the tragic incident occurred when the killers invaded the private residence in the Dorayi Chiranci quarter of the city, where they slaughtered the mother and three children, while the infant was dumped in a well.
Newsbuka reports that the entire community was thrown into mourning in the early hours of Saturday when a neighbour broke out of the victim’s house in loud noise, seeking neighbours’ help.
Meanwhile, spokesperson of the Kano Police Command, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, has confirmed the development, saying that an investigation has been launched to unravel the circumstances.
In a statement by the command, Kiyawa explained that victims of the brutal murder include: Fatima Abubakar (35) mother and her six children, who were attacked by unknown hoodlums who broke into their house.
