Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has declared that he does not know yet who will succeed him after the expiration of his tenure in May 2027.
Zulum spoke at the weekend during an All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting in Maiduguri.
He reaffirmed that his administration is focused on strengthening security and providing much-needed development to the people.
Prof. Zulum added that he is committed to a fair, transparent, and just process in the election of party officials during the forthcoming congresses.
He stated that the integrity of the process is critical for the party’s unity and future success, advocating a fresh set of individuals to occupy the various party positions.
Zulum called on stakeholders to allow new faces emerge through a democratic process to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure and inclusivity.
He also dismissed speculation about his influence on the party’s future ticket, reaffirming that he has not anointed any candidate for the upcoming party positions or for any elective office.
