Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to unlocking the vast solid mineral potential across the State.

‎Kefas made the declaration on Monday while opening the Stakeholders’ Engagement and Validation Workshop on the Mining Sector Roadmap Development in Jalingo, the state capital.

‎Speaking at the engagement through the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Gebon Kataps, the governor called for stronger collaboration among government agencies, private investors, host communities, and industry experts to ensure that mining activities in the state are conducted in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner.

‎The Governor enjoined stakeholders to make meaningful contributions towards the development of a comprehensive, practical, and investor-friendly roadmap that would serve as a blueprint for the sector’s growth.

‎He said establishing a structured and transparent mining framework will not only attract responsible investment but also create employment opportunities, boost internally generated revenue, and stimulate economic growth across local communities.

‎Kefas described the validation workshop as a critical step towards repositioning the state as a leading mining destination in Nigeria.

‎Newsbuka reports that the workshop is expected to produce a validated roadmap that will guide policy direction, strengthen value chain development, and position Taraba as a competitive hub within Nigeria’s mining industry.
