Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State, has stressed the need for teamwork and good working relationship among government officials so as to drive development in the state.
The Governor who made this call at a capacity-building retreat for commissioners, special advisers, permanent secretaries, and local government chairmen, emphasised the need for them to work together and think outside the box to move the state forward.
Bago emphasised the importance of prudent management of resources, stating that budgeted funds are spent in line with the state’s vision.
He highlighted his priorities for the 2026 budget, focusing on education, health, and water, pledging that ongoing projects would be completed.
Bago used the opportunity to announce plans to empower local government vice chairmen to focus on women, widows, and children at the grassroots level, according to him, this will allow council chairmen concentrate on administrative duties.
