Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has promised full government support for the establishment of the newly approved Nigerian Army 5 Division in the state.

‎Governor Alia made the pledge on Tuesday when he received a delegation from the Army Headquarters Implementation Committee at Government House, Makurdi.
‎
‎He said the creation of the division and other military formations in Benue was a major step to improve security and restore public confidence amid years of security challenges.
‎
‎The Governor assured that the state government would provide land for all approved Army formations and units, as well as logistics for the smooth take-off of the 5 Division headquarters.
‎
‎He thanked President Bola Tinubu for approving the formations and locating the 5 Division headquarters in Benue, and also congratulated Major General M. K. Gara on his appointment as the pioneer General Officer Commanding.
‎
‎The Army team, led by Major General Raymond Utsaha, said it was in Benue to implement the Federal Government’s approval for the new formations.
